The serial number is helpful but not always required.
This helps us verify part availability and confirm serviceability.

🛠 Do you repair console stereos?

Yes—we repair vintage console stereos that include a turntable, radio, and speakers.
Due to their size and configuration, please call ahead with the model number to confirm before scheduling.

🧠 Is it worth repairing my unit?

We help you decide based on:

  • The type of issue

  • Cost of repair vs. unit value

  • Whether it has sentimental value

If the repair cost outweighs the value, we’ll let you know up front. No pressure.

⏳ How long do repairs take?

Repair times vary based on:

  • The complexity of the issue

  • Part availability

  • Our current waitlist

Please note: Dan is a one-man operation who handles all diagnostics and repairs himself.
This ensures high-quality, expert-level work—but it also means turnaround times can vary.

Some repairs are completed in just a few days. Others may take longer, especially for rare or complex units.
We’ll provide a rough estimate once the unit is evaluated.

đŸ’” What do repairs usually cost?

Services & Typical Pricing –

We offer repair services for a wide range of vintage audio and video equipment. Every unit is different, so pricing depends on the complexity of the issue, labor time, and parts availability. You can also see a full breakdown of what we repair.

đŸŽ›ïž Common Repairs We Handle:

  • Vintage Receivers (solid state)

  • Turntables

  • Cassette Decks

  • Radios

  • Speakers

  • Console Stereos (non-tube)

  • Select Flat-Screen TVs

❗ We do not service tube gear, battery-damaged units, or devices previously repaired by others.

đŸ’” What Do Repairs Usually Cost?

Every job is custom-priced based on labor and parts. Here’s a general idea:

  • Minor Repairs: $45–$95
Quick fixes, simple cleanings, or basic part swaps

  • Major Repairs: $150–$450
Most standard repairs involving diagnostics and moderate labor

  • Complex or Rare Units: $450+
Rare models, extensive diagnostics, or hard-to-find parts

  • Flat-Screen TVs: Varies by model
Call with the make/model to confirm pricing and eligibility

Why no flat rates?
Because what seems like the same issue on two units can take one hour on one and four hours on another.
We’ve seen minor-looking problems turn into complex jobs due to hidden damage, poor prior work, or unavailable parts.
Our pricing reflects real labor and expert troubleshooting, not guesswork.

💡 If a repair doesn’t make sense financially, we’ll tell you up front. No pressure. No surprises.

💬 What to Expect When You Work With Us.

  • Honest, upfront communication

  • Custom quotes—no flat-rate surprises

  • High standards for the work we accept

  • Patience required—Dan’s work is thorough and worth the wait

  • No gimmicks, no upsells, no pressure

  • Every repair is handled in-house by Dan—no outsourcing, ever

💡 We’re a small shop that focuses on quality, not quantity. If we take your unit in, it’s because we believe it’s worth fixing—and we’ll treat it that way.

📅 Appointments & Communication

We operate by appointment only—no walk-ins or unscheduled drop-offs. This ensures every repair gets the focused time it deserves.

We kindly ask that all communication—calls, texts, or emails—be made during business hours only. After-hours messages will be responded to on the next business day.

⏰ Business Hours:
Monday–Friday
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Closed weekends and holidays

Please respect our time as we respect yours. This helps us stay focused on repairs and keeps things running smoothly for everyone.

💬 If you’re running late or need to reschedule an appointment, just let us know—we’re happy to work with you as long as it’s within business hours.

All repairs are by appointment only. To schedule, visit our Request a Repair Appointment page.

✅ What happens after I drop off my unit?

Once your unit is dropped off, it goes into our active repair queue.
We’ll evaluate the issue, begin diagnostics, and contact you if anything unexpected comes up.
There’s no need to check in unless you haven’t heard from us by the estimated time we provided.

🔁 Do you provide status updates?

We’ll reach out if we need your approval, if there’s a delay, or once your unit is ready.
We do not send daily or weekly updates, but you’re welcome to check in after the estimated timeframe if you haven’t heard from us.

📩 Do you accept shipped-in repairs?

Yes, while most of our customers are local to Michigan, we occasionally accept shipped-in repairs for rare or specialty equipment. Customers are responsible for packing their equipment securely and purchasing shipping insurance. Digital Vintage Classics is not responsible for damage, loss, or delays that occur during transit. Please contact us before shipping so we can confirm your unit is a good fit and discuss packing guidelines.

📣 Do you sell parts or refurbished equipment?

We do not sell parts. We occasionally have refurbished vintage gear available for sale—please check our Classic Audio Equipment page or contact us for availability.

🧠  Why choose Digital Vintage Classics instead of a general electronics shop or repair service?

Because Dan isn’t just a technician—he’s a vintage electronics specialist with decades of hands-on experience.

Where most shops rely on part-swapping (or won’t touch vintage gear at all), Dan can often diagnose and repair equipment down to the component level—saving original parts, preserving performance, and extending the life of your unit.

We don’t rush through jobs, outsource repairs, or offer cookie-cutter service. Each repair is carefully diagnosed and handled in-house. If a repair isn’t worth doing, we’ll tell you the truth before wasting your time or money.

You’re not getting a generic fix—you’re getting expert-level work from someone who’s built a reputation on quality and integrity.
